Single Adult Conference

April 21-23, 2017

This year's Single Adult Conference is being hosted by the Charlotte Central and Gastionia Stakes. The theme is "SuperHeros: The Lord Uses Ordinary People In Super Ways" with an inspiring message from Brother Michael Fear . We will also be having social events designed with Single Adults in mind. Events include workshops, a service project, two dances, and meals.

Michael Fear

Brother Michael Fear is a native of Prunedale, California and is the 2nd of six children. He was raised by a single Mom from the time he was 8 and owes a lot to her for keeping them active in the Church through his teenage years. He served a mission to the South Dakota Rapid City Mission in the early 90’s and graduated from BYU with a degree in Geography. He and his wife Davina were married in 1994 and they are the parents of four great kids, one of whom is currently serving a mission in Taiwan. Brother Fear has taught seminary and institute for over 20 years and currently trains the S&I teachers in 4 stakes in the Charlotte and Asheville areas. He earned his Master’s Degree in Religious Education from BYU in 2006 and enjoys reading, writing, playing golf, and being with his amazing family. He has served as a Bishop and is currently a counselor in the Gastonia stake presidency.

WORKSHOPS ON SATURDAY MORNING

Uplifting and informational workshops on how you can become a better SuperHero...from Civil War (keeping the peace), to The Fortress of Solitude (temple attendance), and defeating your Arch-Nemesis (addiction recovery program), come and learn more to help you achieve your potential.

HEROS & VILLAINS BALL ON FRIDAY, AS WELL AS A

SATURDAY EVENING DANCE

Heros and Villians Ball (Friday Night) A fun Casual Dance, come dressed as your favorite Super Hero , Super Villain or ordinary citizen, because the heroes need someone to save and the Villains some one to terrorize

Saturday Gala: Think of the Benefit ball in your favorite superhero movie, Come dressed to impress, for an elegant evening of fun.

SERVICE PROJECT OPPORTUNITIES

Saturday after lunch you will be provided with the chance to be a HERO.....by assisting in service projects around the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Some projects may involve messy tasks - please feel free to bring your "grubbies" to work in; several options will also be available to fit everyone's needs.
